Paid amounts through August are from the distribution history checked August 24, 2026. Future dates are the fund sponsor’s schedule, while future amounts remain blank until declared. That separation is important: a calendar date is not a promise of a specific cash payment.

Ex-Date, Record Date and Pay Date Are Different Jobs

JEPQ’s calendar uses the same day for its ex-date and record date in 2026. The pay date follows two to five calendar days later.

Ex-dividend date

If you buy JEPQ on or after the ex-dividend date, you generally do not receive that month’s distribution. A purchase must settle under the market’s rules, so investors should verify broker treatment rather than trading solely from a calendar.

Record date

This is the date J.P. Morgan checks its shareholder records. In the official 2026 schedule, JEPQ’s record date matches the ex-date.

Payment date

This is when the fund sends the distribution. Your broker may post the cash later in the day or on the next business day. A short posting delay does not necessarily mean the payment was missed.

How Much Has JEPQ Paid in 2026?

The first eight distributions credited during calendar 2026 total about $4.61 per share. This includes the December 31, 2025 ex-date payment that arrived January 5, 2026.

Measurement Amount Method
Cash paid January through August 2026 $4.60636 per share Sum of eight listed payments
Average payment for those eight months $0.57580 per share $4.60636 ÷ 8
Highest completed 2026 payment $0.70497 August 5 payment
Lowest completed 2026 payment $0.46572 February 4 payment
Official 12-month rolling dividend yield 10.83% J.P. Morgan fact sheet, July 31, 2026

J.P. Morgan’s July 31 JEPQ fact sheet also reported a 15.06% 30-day SEC yield. These two yields answer different questions and should not be treated as forecasts of the next payment. For a longer record, use the separate JEPQ dividend history page.

A Monthly-Income Planning Example

Suppose an investor bought 200 JEPQ shares at $58 in January 2026, committing $11,600. If the first eight 2026 cash payments listed above were received and not reinvested, the position would have generated about $921.27 by August.

“I originally budgeted around a fixed $115 each month. February came in below that and August came in above it. I now budget from a rolling average and treat the pay date as a window, not a guaranteed morning deposit.”

Period Shares Distribution per share Cash received
January payment 200 $0.57610 $115.22
February payment 200 $0.46572 $93.14
March–July payments combined 200 $2.85957 $571.92
August payment 200 $0.70497 $140.99
Total through August 200 $4.60636 $921.27

Why JEPQ’s Monthly Amount Changes

JEPQ seeks current income while maintaining prospects for capital appreciation. It owns a large-cap equity portfolio and uses an options overlay through equity-linked notes. The amount available for distribution can change with option premiums, portfolio dividends, expenses and tax accounting.

That is why a payout-ratio figure designed for an operating company can mislead when applied to JEPQ. The fund’s prospectus states that distributions may be ordinary income or capital gains, and J.P. Morgan’s calendar says extra income or capital-gain distributions may occur during the year. Check the final Form 1099-DIV for tax classification.

JEPQ Dividend Date Questions

When is JEPQ’s next dividend date?

The next scheduled ex-date and record date is September 1, 2026. The scheduled payment date is September 3, 2026. The amount had not been declared as of August 24.

Does JEPQ pay dividends monthly?

Yes. JEPQ is listed in J.P. Morgan’s monthly distributing ETF group. Monthly frequency does not mean the amount is fixed.

What time does the JEPQ dividend arrive?

The sponsor provides a payment date, not an intraday posting time. Brokers process fund payments on their own schedules, so cash may appear later on the pay date or the next business day.

Can I buy JEPQ on the ex-dividend date and receive the payment?

Generally no. A buyer on or after the ex-date normally does not receive that distribution. The market price also tends to adjust for the distribution, so buying solely to capture the payment does not create free income.

Is the JEPQ dividend qualified?

JEPQ distributions can contain ordinary income or capital gains, and the mix may differ by year. Rely on the fund’s year-end tax information and your Form 1099-DIV. The IRS explains dividend categories, but personal tax treatment requires individual advice.

What happens if JEPQ changes a date?

J.P. Morgan marks every scheduled date as subject to change. Recheck the sponsor’s distribution notice before trading or budgeting around an upcoming payment.

Keep the Calendar and the Investment Decision Separate

The calendar answers when cash may move. It does not tell you whether JEPQ’s price, total return, tax profile or downside risk fits your plan. Review the JEPQ dividend overview, compare its historical payments on the JEPQ history page, and place the fund within a broader dividend strategy.

Research note: Henry Zhou checked the dates against J.P. Morgan’s fund documents and verified paid amounts against the published distribution record before publication.
